Getting Started
Buying a small business is always a challenge. Reaching an agreement on a fair price with the seller, negotiating the terms, securing financing, and then opening your doors with the "Under New Management" sign are just some of the obstacles to overcome. And when you are moving from Puerto Rico, fluent in Spanish but not in English, the level of difficulty is magnified.
Sisters Jasmarie Rosa and Brenda Rosa, both newly emigrated to Florida after the destruction and devastation in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 storm, were not intimidated by the significant challenges they faced in acquiring a business. As expert bakers with a family history of successful bakeries in both Puerto Rico and the United States, they saw an opportunity when they found a bakery and sandwich shop for sale in Deltona, Florida. With determination and passion, the sisters seized the opportunity.
